CTM Continuous Feed Dual Unwind (CFUD)

The Continuous Feed Dual Unwind (CFUD) is a stand alone unit designed to eliminate down time associated with supply roll changeover and help increase production speeds.

CFUD improves the efficiency and lost time of any roll-fed labeler by providing nonstop, uninterrupted label supply at high speeds. The CFUD functions as a standard loose loop controlled powered unwind.  When the supply roll in use unwinds to a predetermined level, a sensor activates a warning light and signals the drive to feed the remaining labels into a holding bin. The second roll of labels is then spliced to the end of the web as the labels in the bin are consumed. The operator completes the changeover by reloading the empty station and resetting the system for the next changeover.

The CFUD is equipped with low label and end of web alarms with a strobe light indicator as standard features. There is a dual manual clamping system on the splicing table.  These features maximize use of label material.

Label-Aire Auto Splice Dual Unwinder (ASDU) with Festoon

The Auto Splice Dual Unwinder with Festoon is engineered to help eliminate time consuming change-overs.

It is a high-speed servo drive, PLC controlled, continuous feed unit designed to roll up to your production line and improve line efficiency with minimum operator effort. The ASDU's label sensor and DC servo ensure tight and accurate label splicing. A variety of label sizes can be handled (i.e., promotional and coupon labels) by the ASDU and is compatible with all brands of labelers.

It provides consistent tensioning of labels throughout the system, eliminates stoppages due to roll changes, and improves line efficiency. The automatic splicing maintains registration. Its dual 20” diameter unwinds and automatic splicing eliminates downtime.

Label-Aire Auto Splice Dual Unwinder (ASDU) with Binbox

The Label-Aire Auto Splice Dual Unwinder (ASDU) with Binbox has most of the same features as our Festoon version such as a high-speed servo drive, PLC controls, and a continuous feed unit designed to roll up to your production line and improve line efficiency with minimum operator effort.

The ASDU with Binbox features speeds up to 2,500 inches (64 m) per minute and comes equipped with dual 20 inch (508 mm) unwinds. The ASDU's label sensor and DC servo ensure tight and accurate label splicing. A variety of label sizes can be handled (for example, promotional and coupon labels) by the ASDU and is compatible with all brands of labelers.

Label-Aire Non-Stop Dual Unwinder (NSDU)

Non-Stop Dual Unwinder (NSDU) is a high speed PLC controlled, continuous feed unit designed to roll up to your production line and improve line efficiency. The NSDU features speeds up to 4,300 inches per minute and will accommodate two 20" label supply rolls with a maximum web width of 7.5".

As the primary label roll searches a defined low level condition, a low label supply sensor alerts the operator by activating a strobe light and signals the drive motor to feed the rest of the labels into an accumulation bin. The twin clamps on the splicing table can then be used to quickly splice the secondary label roll to the primary roll while the labels in the bin continue to feed the label applicator.
